Why this exists
In August a golf brand posted an ad in which a man shoved a woman to the ground to sell a driver. The caption read "you have been warned." It was deleted the same day. The apology came the next afternoon and said the video depicted actions that were not aligned with their values as a brand.
Here is what is actually true. There are 8.1 million women and girls playing golf on courses in the United States, the highest number on record. That is 28 percent of everyone who plays a round, up from 20 percent in 2012. Between 2020 and 2025 women and girls accounted for 52 percent of the net growth in on-course golf.
That is not a niche the sport is doing a favor for. That is the reason it is growing.
